The Story
Four Decades of Craft
With an extensive background in fine arts and design, Peter Violas moved to Hollywood, CA, where a friend introduced him to Paul DeFalco — a talented old-school painter and stickler for perfection. Peter became his apprentice and quickly excelled in all phases of painting and staining.
But brushwork alone wasn't enough for Peter's artistic side. In 1991, at an Italian furniture store in Beverly Hills, he encountered something that would change his life forever: Venetian Plaster. A crew from Italy had been flown in to install this exotic product — and fortunately, they left some behind. It didn't take Peter long to master it, and soon he was off on his own.
Creative Finishes Ltd. has been a full-service painting and decorating company since 1996. Peter has worked on multi-million dollar estates, commercial spaces, and intimate residences — always with the same dedication: creative conceptualization to project completion, with finishes that are vibrant, full of life, and built to last.
Beyond the Brush

When Peter isn't on a job site, you might find him on a stage. He's the creative force behind 33 Thunder, a rock project that has been part of his life for years. One of his most celebrated painting projects — a Middle Eastern-inspired custom mansion in Pacific Palisades — was named "Thunder on the Mountain" as a nod to that creative spirit.
Music and painting share more than you'd think — both are about feel, timing, and leaving something behind that moves people. That creative energy flows directly into his work. Peter doesn't just paint walls — he thinks about how a room sounds, how it breathes, how it makes you feel when you walk in.
